Openmeetings provides video conferencing, instant messaging, white board, collaborative document editing and other groupware tools. It uses API functions of Media Server for Remoting and Streaming Kurento. MS Active Directory is in most enterprises, the de facto authentication system for Windows systems. Openmeetings can be integrated with LDAP & Active Directory to grant domain users privilege to login the system. Furthermore, we can unify AD and Linux to facilitate system login. In this talk, the speaker will illustrate details of how to configure LDAP & ADS with Openmeetings, and discuss RBAC mechanisms about how to unify AD and Linux by authenticating LDAP users to login a Linux client machine. Concepts of AD, such as forest, domain, and Linux modules, such as PAM, SSSD and NSS will be discussed. Classes and functions in code snippets of Apache Openmeetings will be explained. Configuration files will be discussed from a user’s point of view assuming you have basic knowledge of java and LDAP. At the end of speech, demos of development and system configuration will be given.
